Basketball and acrobatics lovers are in luck with the return of the Harlem Globetrotters in Madrid.
The ball-handling wizards are embarking on a tour in several cities in Spain that will stop in the capital on 8 May. The popular American team known for mixing sports and pirouettes will offer a new show at the WiZink Center in Madrid, where they will demonstrate once again that basketball tricks have no limits.
With almost a century of hoops behind them, the Harlem Globetrotters are a very particular team: they don’t seek the victory, just to have a great time on the court with dozens of tricks and acrobatics. Since their birth in New York in the late 1920s, these ball experts have played more than 26,000 games around the world with the aim of delighting the public with impossible shots, spectacular jumps and somersaults and a great dose of humour.
Their skills are incomparable, and after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic they will show them once again on the courts of 150 cities with the Spread Game Tour, a promise of a renewed experience of their basketball shows. The Harlem Globetrotters tour will arrive in Spain in May and you can enjoy it in Madrid on the 8th.
Where to see the Globetrotters in Madrid
The legendary team will visit the WiZink Center in Madrid with an interactive event for the whole family. The show will open its doors at 4:30 p.m. and will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a set time of approximately 100 minutes.
The WiZink is located on Avenida Felipe II and can be reached by metro to the nearest stops, Goya (L4) and O'Donnell (L6), or by bus with lines 143, 56, 2, 71, 28, 21, 53, 15, 63, 43, 30, 29 and C of the EMT. For private vehicles, under the venue there is a public car park where you can park.
