Fancy running in Madrid? Then you will be interested to know more about one of the most popular sporting events in the Spanish capital, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon, which you can take part in on 26 March.
Despite being one of several 21Ks held in the Madrid region every year, this is undoubtedly the most special of the half marathons, as it passes through some of the most emblematic places in the city.

Madrid Half Marathon route
The 21.097 kilometres of the 2023 Madrid Half Marathon are run right through the centre of the capital, passing through such iconic places as Puerta de Alcalá, Paseo del Prado, Atocha, Cibeles, Calle Serrano, Retiro Park and the Bernabéu stadium. The start of the half marathon will be at the Paseo de la Castellana avenue number 22, and the finish at Paseo de Recoletos number 12.
In 2022, Kenyan participant Winfridah Moraa broke the half marathon distance record in Madrid, stopping the clock in 1h07:22.
In addition to the half marathon, there is also the Carrera Profuturo, a 5 km race accessible to all runners, and several children's races for the youngest runners.
Madrid Half Marathon: times and where to pick up your bib number
The 22nd edition of the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon will be held on 26 March 2023, starting at 9:15 am. At 9:10am, the race will start for people with disabilities in wheelchairs.
The maximum time for the half marathon is 3 hours from the start time for all participants.
The collection of bibs for the Madrid Half Marathon will take place at the Feria del Corredor on 24 and 25 March, from 10am to 8pm.

Registration for the Madrid Half Marathon 2023
With a maximum of 20,000 participants, registrations for the Madrid Half Marathon are now open in three price ranges depending on the day of application:
- Until 28 February: €40
- Until 16 March (registration closes): 45 €.
- Registration in person at the Runner's Fair (24 and 25 March): 60 €.
