Chef Javier Muñoz Calero is one of the latest culinary sensations of Madrid, a young Madrileño (as natives of the city are known) now at the forefront of NuBel, a gastronomic restaurant located within the Reina Sofia, a museum specialising in 20th Century art.
The dining area is situated underneath a vertiginous red canopy over a courtyard that constitutes the main feature of Jean Nouvel’s 2005 refurbishment of the historic building. NuBel serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. The interior design is reason enough to visit, laid out like a tropical landscape with sofas and seating arranged like islands under the vibrant red of the canopy above.
